Anti-Virus software - change update frequency?

YB: it's actually a very good thing that the anti-virus software updates everyday. Everytime it updates it is downloading the most recent and up-to-date listings of virus names.

If your anti-virus happens to not update this week and a new virus comes out tomorrow, then your PC will be vulnerable to it since your anti-virus program doesn't know that it's a virus (yet - it will only know next week).

Aside from that, you can't change the frequency of updates - it checks daily automatically. ;-)
